Rene Genest is a Master and Craftsman Photographer, having earned both degrees from the Professional Photographer of America. Rene's passion for photography began in high school. He started photographing high school seniors, sports and wedding photography in his early 20's and his love of photography never stopped. Rene loves the creative process and he is meticulous about making beautifully crafted portraits that bring out the best in everyone.
Rene is a Past President of the North Haven Rotary Club and a Past President of the Professional Photographers Association of New England.
Rene is an avid skier and loves to play raquetball and golf. He has two grown children, Marie and Andre who are on their own fulfilling their dreams. His studio partner and life partner is his lovely wife, Joan.
Joan Genest earned a Bachelor's Degree in French from CCSU. But, her career came alive when she learned photography with Rene. Joan is also a Master Craftsman Photographer. She loves to create images for competition and some of her personal photography is featured on the Gallery Pages. Her best days are spent photographing babies, children and high school seniors. She is a Photoshop nut and loves to retouch, create, montage and paint images on her computer. Most recently, Joan has developed the Baby Ducks portraits for the studio. It's quickly becoming a studio favorite.
Joan serves on the Board of Directors of the North Haven Education Foundation. She is a two time recipient of the National Award from PPA. She also serves as an Affiliate Juror and Jury Chairman for the Photographic Exhibition Committee of PPA.
Joan loves to read - mostly biographies and historical fiction. She has rekindled her passion for playing the piano, mostly Beethoven. Joan is a fair-weather golfer on the weekend.
